Glacier National Park

It is my goal to go to as many national parks as possible while we are adventuring. We went to Glacier National Park mid-July and it was our first time visiting. We heard they had just barely opened up the Going To The Sun Road that goes all the way through the park. It is a park that is definitely meant for hikers. There is just one main road that goes through the park and not many side roads - just lots of side trails. The road is very narrow and RVs aren't allowed on it, but the park has a free bus system so that was super nice.

I was a bit scared riding on the bus. The roads are windy, narrow, and are right by the cliff edges. I let Jordan have the window seat most of the time. We drove up to the summit of the park and down the back side a little to go on a hike to some waterfalls.

We went up to the summit and hung out there for a while.

We saw so many animals! Bighorn sheep, mountain goats, marmots, squirrels, a weasel, and even a wolverine!
If you look close you can see the weasel in the bottom center of the picture:

We went on another hike at the summit and lost the trail due to all the snow. We found our way back on the trail and the views were breathtaking!

On the way back on our hike we took the trail the whole way and towards the beginning of the trail there was a barrier across it saying the hike was closed. Oops!

Our second day in the park we got started much earlier. We didn't take the bus and decided to just scoot around the west side of the park since there was still so much to see.

One of the things we just couldn't get over was the color of the water.

We went swimming in Lake McDonald. I am the biggest wuss when it comes to swimming in cold water. This wasn't as cold as I thought it would be - especially considering its all glacier fed.
Learning to skip rocks:

The lake was so smooth! And the view was beautiful.

There was a storm off in the distance and we were on the scoot, still 10 miles from the RV. We left the lake when it started to sprinkle and then it started to pour buckets of rain.
